Tree Planting Initiative Strengthens Protection of Nagkalit-Kalit Watershed

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱

On May 20, 2025, as part of the project “Strengthening Watershed Governance in the Municipality of El Nido,” a 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 activity was held in the denuded area of the Nagkalit-Kalit Watershed. This initiative supports the National Greening Program, aiming to restore the watershed, combat climate change, and preserve the biodiversity that sustains both the environment and local tourism.

The activity aimed to replenish dead trees and promote sustainable watershed governance. It was made possible through the cooperation and participation of various stakeholders, including:

• Barangay Council of Barangay Pasadena, led by PB Ferdinand P. Perez

• Bantay Gubat from Barangay Pasadena, Barotuan, and Villa Paz
• DENR – Protected Area Management Office (PAMO)
