El Nido Mooring Buoy Project

Protecting coral reefs through sustainable mooring solutions for dive and snorkel sites

The Mooring Buoy Project addresses a critical conservation challenge: protecting El Nido's fragile coral reefs from anchor damage caused by tourist boats.

By installing permanent mooring pins at popular diving and snorkeling sites throughout Bacuit Bay and the eastern waters, we provide safe, reef-friendly alternatives for boats to secure themselves without dropping anchors that can destroy decades of coral growth.
